Big Hit JapanGlobal Debut Project

Big Hit Japan will launch the 「Big Hit Japan Global Debut Project」 to produce artists who will start in Japan and go on to perform on the world stage.

The Big Hit Japan Global Debut Project’s professional Mentors with different areas of expertise will fully support the artists under Big Hit Japan’s unique structured training system. Furthermore, Mentors appointed for the project will be Big Hit Entertainment's Bang Si-Hyuk（Chairman&CEO, Producer), Pdogg(Producer), and Son Sung-Deuk(Performance Director), also Sakura Inoue (Performance Director) and Soma Genda(Producer & Sound Director) will be join. Along with these Mentors, Ryosuke Imai and UTA will participate in the project as Special Advisors.

Five members of a team, (K, NICHOLAS, EJ, KYUNGMIN, and TAKI), have experienced “I-LAND,” the mega viral project held this year in Korea, and they keep improving every day. The first step of the project will be to hold auditions (called “&AUDITION”) for additional members who will join them. The group will debut in 2021.

Look forward to an all-new story starting in Japan.

    • After moving back to Japan in 2011, she has mainly worked in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and other Asian countries.
    • She leads Team “S,” renowned for direction that leverages each artist’s individuality and unique choreography that the team creates together.
    • She is involved in choreography, direction, and other activities in a wide range of genres.

  • Producer and Sound Director

    Soma Genda

    • With an academic music theory background and an exceptional sense for creating tracks, Genda has gained an established reputation for producing music in a wide range of genres, such as dance, rock, pop, electro, and background music.
    • “Crystal Snow,” the song he composed for BTS, ranked #1 on the iTunes chart in about 10 countries around the world upon its release.
    • Arashi’s album Untitled, which includes a song that Genda composed and arranged, has been certified as Triple Platinum.

Special Advisors

  • Ryosuke Imai

    • Imai has been working as a composer and music producer since 1995.
    • He has created many songs since working on Double’s hit song “Shake” in 1999.
    • In 2016, he wrote, composed, and produced “Hero” (Namie Amuro), NHK’s official song for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, further establishing himself as a composer.
    • In 2019, he produced “ECHO” (Little Glee Monster), NHK’s theme song for the Rugby World Cup.
    • He published the book Sayonara, Hit Song (Sayonara, Hitto Kyoku) in 2019.
    • Currently he is expanding his activities to areas such as discovering and training artists, cowriting sessions, and discovering overseas artists, with a focus on music production from a global perspective.

  • UTA

    • UTA is one of Japan’s leading music producers.
    • In 2018, the BTS songs “Don’t Leave Me” and “Let Go,” both of which he worked on, reached #1 and #2 on the iTunes world chart.
    • In 2019, “Lights” by BTS sold one million copies, “Stay Gold” reached #1 on iTunes in 84 countries, and “Your Eyes Tell” reached #1 on iTunes in 101 countries and #8 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.
